Today (April 10) “Azadlig” Newspaper employee Agil Khalil was again called back to the Chief Prosecutor’s Office.
Khalil’s lawyer Elchin Sadigov told this to the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety. Sadigov said that the journalist was called to office in connection with the complaint sent to the Chief Prosecutor about the investigations being conducted in Khalil’s cases. Khalil is supposed to give a statement on allegations that he was pressure and blackmailed. The investigation is being conducted by the Chief Prosecutor’s Assistant Azer Asgerov.
Sadigov also noted that in addition to the complaint filed against the investigation, he is also preparing a complaint against the TV channels who aired video footage about the investigation into A. Khalil’s case, including claims that the journalist is homosexual and was stabbed on March 13 by a former lover.
