A lawsuit has been filed against a member of the Popular Front Party Elnur Rustamov over an incident a year ago. Rustamov told Turan news agency that despite his participation in the second Karabakh war, he is not given the status of a veteran.
“My appeals are refused and I protest against it before the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection. The day before I also went there. They put me in a civilian car and brought me to the 26th Yasamal district police,” he said.
After 6-7 hours, he was taken to the Yasamal district police department, where he was ordered to reappear on March 29. The investigator stated that in connection with the incident, a lawsuit was filed against him before the Ministry of Labor on June 2, 2022.
“The investigator said that I was suspected of breaking the glass in the doors and windows of the ministry and there is a complaint against me. I was there, but I had nothing to do with these actions. Today I was told that I would not be arrested, but I am obliged to report to the police every time I am called,” Rustamov said.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turan stated that the Yasamal district department conducted an investigation into the incident before the Ministry of Labor on June 2, 2022 and opened a criminal case based on the results.
On June 2, 2022, a group of participants in the second Karabakh War protested in front of the Ministry of Labor against the refusal to award them disability. During the action, the participants broke down the door of the reception room.
The Ministry of Labor stated that each appeal was registered, will be studied and appropriate decisions will be made based on the results. At the same time, the ministry indicated that the participants of the action damaged the property of the Ministry and “measures will also be taken in this regard.”
