Today in the Nasimi District Court, under the chairmanship of Judge Kamaleddin Badalov, a hearing was conducted on the claim of “Azadlig” Newspaper employee Agil Khalil’s lawyer Elchin Sadigov against Chief Investigator of the Chief Prosecutor’s Investigation Department Ali Guliyev.

During the process, A. Khalil, who was participating as a witness, stated that Sadigov truly did face pressure during the investigative process. Although he wanted to leave the department, Sadigov was forced to stay there until 2 a.m.
Sadigov told the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety, “In their statements, investigators Parviz Ibayev and Kamal Talibov, who were both participating in the hearing, denied that I wanted to go home.”
At the end of today’s hearing, the judge announced that tomorrow he will reveal his ruling.
Recall that Elchin Sadigov filed a lawsuit against Chief Investigator Ali Guliyev, after Sadigov and his client “Azadlig” Newspaper employee Agil Khalil were kept together in the Investigation Department for over 12 hours, and allegedly subjected to moral pressure.
