“ANS Press” website www.anspres.com has been hacked by hackers.

The Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety was told this by “ANS Press” website employee Sevda Hasanova. According to Hasanova, ANS Press’s website was hacked at 3:00 p.m. on 8 December. Despite of all the efforts, it has been impossible to restore the site, said Hasanova. She stated that “ANS Press” website hosted by a server located in the USA and technical assistance can be provided by the server only. The server is also puzzled about the country the site was attacked from, according to Hasanova. Hasanova claims that the site has been hacked by Armenians.

Due to disputes over a region known as Nagorno-Karabakh, Armenia and Azerbaijan has been at war for nearly 20 years. Although a ceasefire was declared between these two countries on 12 May 1994, there has been no diplomatic relations between these two neighbor South Caucasus countries. And various websites belonging to these countries have been subject to cyber-attacks.
