Today Baku court of appeal did not satisfy the appeal against the arrest of Avaz Zeynally, head of yotube channel Khural TV.
Also, the court did not satisfy the defense’s petition to replace the arrest with an alternative preventive measure, or release on bail.
On September 11, the Binagadi district court of Baku arrested Avaz Zeynally and Elchin Sadigov for 4 months. They were charged under Articles 311.3.3 and 32.5, 311 (assistance in taking a bribe on a large scale) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
The human rights activists considered the charges against Zeynally and Sadygov fabricated and politically motivated.
