Today, 1 July, the “Azad Azerbaijan” TV (ATV) crew was not allowed to fulfill their professional duties in the Yasamal District Military Commissariat and correspondent Zaur Zahidoğlu and operator Ramin Shahbazov faced physical pressure.

According to her, the TV crew went to the Yasamal District Military Commissariat to prepare reportage because calls for military service began.
“However, the military commissar’s deputy did not permit our representatives to conduct recording,” said Aygun Nuraddingizi. “He wanted to remove the camera from the operator and used force against him.”
Nuraddingizi then stressed that as a result of blows, his face was unrecognizable. Both of the ATV employees appealed to the Yasamal District Police Department regarding the incident.
An employee of the Yasamal DPD who did not identify his name told IRFS that ATV representatives did not ask for permission and therefore they were not allowed to film. The DPD employee added that this was the reason behind the incident and they were forced away from the administrative building because they insulted the commissariat’s employee who is a war veteran and colonel-lieutenant.
The Yasamal DPD representative on duty, who did not introduce himself, said that they did not receive any complaint regarding this incident.
Ministry of Internal Affairs Press Service department head Ehsan Zahidov said that he was unaware of the incident.
