Azadlig Newspaper Director Azer Ahmedov has appealed to Justice Minister Fikret Mammedova in connection with reports that an act of provocation against “Azadlig” Newspaper Chief Editor Genimat Zahid is being planned.
In the appeal, Ahmedov wrote, “I ask you to pay attention to this information and to use your authority to assist in preventing provcation against Ganimat Zahid in the pre-trial isolator.”
Recall that IRFS earlier noted reports that provation is being planned against Zahid, who is currently being kept in Bayil Prison #1. He is accused of committing hooliganism and inflicting bodily harm on Vusal Huseynov in an altercation that took place in November outside the building that houses Azadlig Newspaper’s editorial office.
