Today a hearing was conducted under the chairmanship of Nakhchivan Appellate Court Judge Vali Abdullayev on the lawsuit of “Radio Liberty” correspondent, Chairperson of the Nakhchivan Democracy and NGO Development Resource Center Malahat Nasibova.
Taking into consideration that there was little evidence, Vali Abdullayev upheld the decision of the Nakhchivan City Court. Nasibova told this to the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety. She said a cassation complaint will be filed from the decision.
Recall that on 11 December 2007 the Resource Center was raided by police and technical equipment was confiscated. Although some of the equipment was later returned, they were returned in an unusable state. As a result of this, Malahat Nasibova filed a lawsuit against police in Nakhchivan City Court. However the lawsuit was denied, and then Nasibova appealed to the Appellate Court.
