Today a conference was held on the theme “Regulation of Internet Media in Azerbaijan” by the Council of Europe and Azerbaijan’s National Television and Radio Council (NTRC).
Official figures, media representatives and experts spoke about present situation and problems of the internet media in Azerbaijan, its perspectives and solutions to difficulties. The need for special standards and regulative mechanisms in the internet media sector was one of the discussion topics during the conference.
Presidential Administration Socio-political Department Head Ali Hasanov, Representative of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe to Azerbaijan Veronica Katick, NTRC Chairman Nushiravan Maharramli, Communication and Information Technologies Deputy Minister Iltimas Mammadov, employees of internet and traditional media, representatives of local organizations, accredited international organizations in Azerbaijan and embassies, and Council of Europe experts participated in the conference.
