“We, Nakhchivan Resource Center, are continuing our own work in a state of crisis,” Radio Liberty correspondent, Nakhchivan Resource Center head Malahet Nasibova told the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety today.
Nasibova said that the equipment belonging to the NGO that was confiscated last December and just recently returned is in terrible condition. “Several expensive pieces of equipment belonging to the Resource Center also were simply not returned to us,” she said. “This equipment is shown in the act that we composed. We appealed to the Nakhchivan Region Court about this, however in a response letter Court Chairman Huseyn Mammedov wrote that we cannot appeal to the court about this matter.” Nasibova emphasized that she will now appeal to a higher court about this. And a cassation complaint about the decision adopted against Nasibova’s husband, Radio Liberty correspondent Ilgar Nasibov is also being prepared.
Recall that on 11 December 2007 Nakhchivan Democracy and NGO Organizations Development Resource Center was raided by police, and equipment was destroyed and computers were confiscated.
