Criminal case against Elnur Majidli, Azerbaijani journalist living in France, launched under Article 281.1 of Criminal Code, has been suspended, the spokesman for General Prosecutor’s Office Eldar Sultanov told IRFS.
Sultanov said that a criminal case was launched against Elnur Majidli on April 1, 2011 under Article 281.1 of Criminal Code (open calls against state), and transferred to Serious Crimes Investigation Department of the Prosecutor's Office for primary investigation.
Elnur Majidli has been operating as a journalist in France. He is cooperating with AFP of France, “Ikhlas” news agency and Turkey newspaper of Turkey, and BBC.

The journalist acredited with European Union, European Parliament, UNESCO, French Congress and Senate, continues to cooperate with international media institutions. He is a member of Association of European Journalists. He has been ane organizer of a number of events and actions concerning Azerbaijan in various cities of France ( Straousburg, Lion, Paris etc.). Besides, Majidli was one of the founders of Facebook pages “11 March- Great Nation’s Day” and “2 April- Great Rage Day”.
