General Prosecutor Zakir Garalov has taken over the investigation of the death of Turaj Zeynalov, a resident of Julfa region of Nakhchivan, the head of the General Prosecutor Office’s press service, Eldar Sultanov told Turan News Agency.
According to Sultanov, the General Prosecutor gave specific instructions to investigate the cause of Zeynalov’s death. On September 1st, ombudswoman Elmira Suleymanova called on the General Prosecutor and the Minister of National Security to clarify the cause of death.
On August 24th, Turaj Zeynalov was summoned to the National Security Ministry (NSM) of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR). A few days later his dead body was transferred to the morgue at Central Hospital in Nakhchivan. NAR NSM reported that Zeynalov died of skin cancer.
