“Yesterday (4 August) at 5:00 pm parliamentarian Igbal Agazade attacked “Ideal” Newspaper.”
“Ideal” Newspaper Editor-in-chief Nazim Guliyev told this to the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety (IRFS).
“Igbal Agazade, with his close relative named Gafgaz and other five unknown people, entered the editorial office and insulted me. Igbal Agazade kicked the table in my room. A computer, that was on the table, and other equipment fell on the floor and crashed,” said Guliyev, adding that force was used against the editorial office guard during the incident.
Nazim Guliyev stated that they have already notified Nasimi District Police Departnment’s Police Unit 22 and Baku City Head police Department of the incident. According to him, a criminal case has already been opened regarding the incidents.
Expressing his position on this report, I.Agazade said that this incident never happened and that N.Guliyev is slandering him. “This is provocation against me. Articles have been published about me in different newspapers since 2006; however I have never expressed dissatisfaction with any press organ,” said Agazade.
