On August 11, at 15:30 in the afternoon, the editor-in-chief of islamazeri.az online newspaper Ramin Bayramov was stopped outside Nizami metro station and taken to the Ministry of National Security by four people in civilian clothing, reported his lawyer Elchin Namazov.
Bayramov’s lawyer Elchin Namazov reported that yesterday his client was apprehended by employees of the 2nd station of the Ministry of National Security (MTN). “Narcotics were placed in his pocket, but he was able to remove them. However, the drugs were put back, recorded as being his property. Following this, his house in Khirdalan was searched. One hand gun and two “F-1” grenades were placed inside and taken out as illegal possessions. Police protocol was violated, and records were falsified. Our objections were not recorded,“ said the lawyer, adding that he had heard from investigator Javid Guluzade today that the case will shortly be sent to the Prosecutor’s Office.
