Azerbaijan’s Minister of Interior Elmar Mammadyarov, who is currently visiting the US, answered questions from Azerbaijani journalists after he met with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton yesterday, 5 May.
Saying that they discussed the closure of foreign radio stations with Clinton, E. Mammadyarov added that America offered to broadcast Azerbaijani radio in America if Voice of America and Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty are broadcast in Azerbaijan via a local frequency.
“Bi-lateral negotiations are being carried out at the broadcasting council level, not on the level of Foreign Affairs Ministry.”
