Today, 11 June, in the Yasamal District Court, under the chairmanship of Judge Khagani Mammadov, a preliminary hearing was conducted on the special format lawsuit of the Yasamal District Executive Administration Head Ibrahim Mehdiyev against Citizen Yagub Muradzade.
The plaintiff`s representatives Zahir Niftaliyev and Azer Tagiyev, and defendant Yagub Muradzade and his representatives, Alibaba Rzayev, and Shahriyar Aliyev participated in the hearing.
Alibaba Rzayev said that the Yasamal District Executive Administration has power to influence the court and presented objection to consider the lawsuit in a different court. The representatives of the plaintiff said that the objection was unfounded and requested that the lawsuit not be fulfilled.
The Judge said that the objection will be submitted to the chairman of the court, and postponed the preliminary hearing until the chairman issues a decision regarding it.
Yagub Muradzade said that he is editor-in-chief of “Yeni Qazet” newspaper, which was published in 2004-2006; however, the newspaper ceased operating.

I. Mehdiyev considered that he was subjected to insult and defamation in the complaint letters written by Yagub Muradzade to different governmental organizations about him. Therefore he filed a special format lawsuit against Muradzade under articles 147(defamation) and 148 (insult) of the criminal Code.
