Today, 1 March, in the Yasamal District Court under the chairmanship of judge Khagani Tagiyev, a preliminary hearing was held on the special format lawsuit of the Council for Textbook Evaluation operating under the Ministry of Education against Alovsat Osmanli, expert on textbooks.
The plaintiff’s lawyer Javad Javadov, defendant A.Osmanli and his lawyer E.Sadigov participated in the hearing.
E.Sadigov filed a motion regarding the participation of special plaintiffs in the hearing.
The plaintiff’s lawyer said that the motion was unfounded.
The judge scheduled the next hearing for 5 March, at 4.30 p.m.
The members of Council for Textbook Evaluation appealed to the Yasamal District Court regarding the sentence in A.Osmanli’s series of articles related to the problems in education in Azadlig newspaper, “The Council for Textbook Evaluation commits falsification in choosing textbook sets” under article 147.1 of the Criminal Code.
E.Sadigov filed a motion regarding the participation of special plaintiffs in the hearing.
