The Council for Textbook Evaluation operating under the Ministry of Education filed a lawsuit in the Yasamal district Court demanding to hold education expert Alovset Osmanli accountable for violation of article 147.1 of the Criminal Code.
The Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety (IRFS) was told this by Alovset Osmanli himself. He said that the members of the Council for Textbook Evaluation appealed to the Yasamal District Court regarding the sentence in his series of articles related to the problems in education in Azadlig newspaper: “The Council for Textbook Evaluation commits falsification in choosing textbook sets.”
