The Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting Closed Shareholder Society (AZTV) was allocated financial means from the state budget in 2010, according to today’s edition of Azadlig newspaper. It is noted in the article titled “Right of AZTV” that the 30 million AZN allocated for AZTV in 2010 has been increased to 41 million because AZTV is not able to pay wages to its employees.
Although the Institute for Reporters` Freedom and Safety (IRFS) was able to contact AZTV regarding this issue, Press Service Head Xatira Gasimova refused to give an explanation. IRFS addressed a written inquiry to AZTV regarding this issue.
