FARAMAZ NOVRUZOGLU AND SARDAR ALIBAYLI VISITED BY RELATIVES

On Sunday, 25 October, imprisoned “Milletim” Newspaper Editor-in-chief Faramaz Novruzoglu was visited by his relatives in prison#16.

The Institute for Reporters Freedom and Safety was told this by Faramaz Novruzoglu’s son Elchibey Allahverdiyev. According to Elchibey Allahverdiyev, Faramaz Novruzoglu doesn’t have any complaints about prison conditions or his health. The journalist said that he reads books and he will continue his writing activity after he is released.

On 25 October, imprisoned “Nota” Newspaper Editor-in-chief Sardar Alibeyli was visited by his relatives in prison#14. Sardar Alibeyli`s brother Etibar Alibeyli told IRFS that the editor-in-chief does not have any complaints about prison conditions and his heath is normal.    

On 8 October 2009 “Nota” Newspaper Editor-in-chief Sardar Alibeyli and the newspaper’s former adviser Faramaz Novruzoglu were sentenced to 3 months imprisonment according to the special lawsuit of T.Novruzov.

On 9 October, a decision was issued on the appeal of both parties against the decision of the Nizami District Court adopted on the special lawsuit of several Internal Army representatives against “Nota” Newspaper Editor-in-chief Sardar Alibeyli, and Sardar Alibayli was sentenced to 4 months imprisonment including his previous sentence.
