On 9 January a group of Musavat Party activists conducted an action in front of the building of the National TV and Radio Council (NTRC) to protest against the ban of foreign radio stations’ broadcasting in Azerbaijan. According to “Radio Liberty,” police dispersed the action and detained five people.
On the basis of the decision of NTRC the broadcasting of Radio Liberty, Voice of America and the BBC via FM frequency in Azerbaijan was ceased as of 1 January.
