GUNDELIK BAKI NEWSPAPER RECEIVES THREATENING PHONE CALL

The editorial office of Gundelik Baki newspaper received a threatening phone call on the evening of November 25, at  21:20, reported deputy editor-in-chief Vazeh Bahramoglu (Mehdiyev).

“A man named Zaur, who introduced himself as a relative of Bilman Valiyev, Baku State Economy and Humanitarian College Director, phoned the editorial office saying they were going to blow the office up,” said Bahramoglu. He speculated that the threat might be related to the newspaper’s critical articles about Bilman Valiyev.
He said that they phoned the 102 emergency service of Interior Ministry and also appealed to the Yasamal District Police Department #27.
The situation is being overseen by the Interior Ministry and the incident is under investigation, Interior Ministry spokesman Elshan Zahid told IRFS.
