Today, February 23, in the Yasamal District Court, under the chairmanship of Judge Metanet Hajiyeva, a hearing was scheduled to take place on the court case against the assistant editor-in chief of "Korrupsiya ve Jamiyyat" (Corruption and Society)Journal Mubariz Masimoglu and citizen Shakir Abbasov.
This case stems from a criminal case instituted by the Yasamal District Police Department's Investigation Department under article 221.2 (hooliganism) of the Criminal Code. The judge postponed the hearing until 3 March, at 10:00 a.m., because S. Abbasov’s defense lawyer did not come to the court.
This lawsuit stems from a dispute which happened on a public bus between assistant editor-in chief of "Korrupsiya ve Jamiyyat" Journal Mubariz Masimoglu, Maleyka Asadova and Emil Jarchiyev in August 2008. A lawsuit has been filed against Mubariz Masimoglu in the Yasamal District Police Department under article 221.2 (hooliganism).
