Today, 19 February, in the Yasamal District Court, under the chairmanship of Judge Tahir Ismayilov, a preliminary hearing was held on the lawsuit put forth by Head of Caucasus Muslims Department Sheykul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade against "Gundalik Baki" Newspaper to defend his honor and dignity.
The last hearing was postponed so the defendant could hire a lawyer. During today’s hearing, “Gundalik Baki” Newspaper was represented by Jeyhun Jafarov and Zaur Ibadov.
During today’s hearing, A. Pashazade’s brother Javanshir Pashazade filed an appeal to participate in the trial as the second person. “Gundalik Baki” newspaper’s representatives asked the judge for more time to be familiar with the lawsuit.
Judge T. Ismayilov postponed the preliminary hearing again until 26 February, at 3:30 p.m.
