HEARING ON LAWSUIT AGAINST JUSTICE MINISTRY POSTPONED

Today, May 20, in the Yasamal District Court, under the chairmanship of Judge Tahir Ismayilov, Latifa Malikova’s lawsuit against Azerbaijan’s Justice Ministry for the ministry’s refusal to register the “Regional Human Rights and Education Center” Public Union was scheduled to take place.

Nasimi Guliyev, who represents the defendant, told the court that he does not agree with the lawsuit, the complaint is incomplete, and the plaintiff has not paid the obligatory state fee. Therefore, Guliyev requested that judge postpone the hearing so the plaintiff can pay the obligatory state fee and gather evidence.
Taking this into consideration, Judge T. Ismayilov, postponed the proceedings until 2 June 2009 at 3 p.m.
