Azerbaijan Popular Front Party Youth activist Jabbar Savalanli is being illegally imprisoned, reported his lawyer Anar Gasimov to Objective TV.
According to Gasimov, Savalanli’s pre-trial detention period expired on April 5. The youth activist should be released if the sentence is not extended.
The lawyer Anar Gasimov sent an appeal to the head of the Penitentiary Service Medet Guliyev. The appeal states that Savalanli’s period of pre-trial detention has ended, and his continued imprisonment constitutes a legal violation.
