IRFS’ Emin Huseynov reappointed chairman for 4th term

Emin Huseynov has been reappointed as the chairman of Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety (IRFS) for a fourth two-year term. The IRFS General Assembly announced on October 6, 2012.

Huseynov, human rights defender and media expert, started his first term as IRFS chairman in 2006. Prior to taking on the role, Huseynov worked as a journalist in Turan News Agency.


According to IRFS charter, the IRFS General Assembly appoints the managerial board, chairman of the board, supervision and inspection commission in every two years.

22 members of the union participated in the General Assembly meeting.
