IRFS to launch Azerbaijan Freedom of Expression report

The Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety (IRFS) will launch its latest publication, Azerbaijan’s Critical Voices in Danger: semi-annual freedom of expression report on Wednesday, August 8, 14:00 at IRFS press center.

The report reveals that journalists in Azerbaijan during first half of 2012 were routinely subjected to pressure, censorship and intimidation. The report provides insight into how the government continues to punish and prosecute individuals for expressing their opinions and protesting ongoing repression.

The report will be available in two languages: Azerbaijani and English. Print copies of the report (in English) will be distributed during the event.
