JOURNALIST AND FAMILY RECEIVE ANONYMOUS THREATS

On December 6th, at 12:54, Azadlig newpaper columnist Anar Mahmudoglu and Khural newspaper‘s current editor-in-chief Nuraddin Khoja received anonymous threatening phone calls from the number 012 – 514-28-67.  The unknown person threatened to kill Mahmudoglu and his children, according to information at xural.com website.

On the phone, the unknown person told Mahmudoglu “Recently you have become very impudent…you are writing very critical articles. We will cut you into pieces. We know that you have daughters. We know which school they go to, and at what time they go. We will destroy their lives.”
Five minutes after Mahmudoglu received his phone call, at 12:59, Khural newspaper editor-in-chief Nasiraddin Khoja received a call. The unknown person threatened him and insulted him on the phone saying, “How dare you publish ASI?” Mahmudoglu immediately called the 102 hotline of the Internal Ministry.  After that he was invited to Narimanov District Police Station #18, where he gave a statement. The police station said that an operative investigation group has been.
