“I want Vasif Maharramli to be arrested,” “ANS-Press" correspondent Vugar Kamiloglu told the Institute for Reporters' Freedom and Safety.
Kamiloglu told IRFS that a criminal case has already been opened in the Yasamal District Police Department under article 221.1 (hooliganism) and the case will be considered by investigator Anar Mammadov. The journalist stated that he had a medical examination and the results have been sent to the Yasamal District Police Department.
Although IRFS tried to contact Yasamal District Police Department investigator Anar Mammadov, the investigator did not answer the phone calls.
On 1 December an incident occurred during recording of "El ichinde" program, which is broadcast on ATV channel. "ANS-Press" correspondent Vugar Kamiloglu, who was appearing on ATV as a guest, was physically attacked by singer Vasif Maharramli.
