A regular meeting of the Board of the Journalists Protection and Freedom of Speech Fund took place with financial support from the Open Society Institute. The meeting considered three appeals received in February.
It was decided to allocate $4,200 for assistance. Three thousand dollars of this is intended for the Fatullayev family, $600 for Maryam Mamedova, wife of the late Tolishi Sedo editor-in-chief Novruzali Mamedov, and $600 for “Mukhalifat” newspaper.
The Journalists Protection and Freedom of Speech Fund was founded by New Generation Journalist’s Union, Azerbaijan Journalists’ Union, Najaf Najafov Foundation and Azerbaijan Democratic Journalists’ League.
