JUDGE ORDERS OBSERVER TO “NEVER COME BACK”

Today, June 13, in the Binegedi District Court, under the chairmanship of Judge Allahveren Hasanov, during a hearing on Asir Fataliyev Besir oglu’s lawsuit against State Notary Office #27 for “the payment to the plaintiff of compensation for damages caused by the illegal action of a notary,” Azerbaijan Lawyers Association representative Gunel Hajibeyli was illegally kicked out of the courtroom.

Hajibeyli told this to the Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety.
According to Hajibeyli, she was ordered to leave the courtroom by the Judge Hasanov: “When I went back, the judge said to me, ‘You must introduce yourself and therefore I threw you out of the courtroom.’ Then he took my ID card to make a copy and gave it to the secretary. After this, I wanted to stay for other hearings scheduled for today. When I said my organization had also given me other tasks there, the judge responded saying, ‘Why don’t you sit in the other hearing, because you have come here on an order.’ After all this, the secretary came back with my ID. As I was leaving the room, the judge ordered me to ‘Never again come to hearings.’’
