Today, Yasamal District Court held a hearing on the lawsuit filed by ‘TV and Alternative Media Development Center’ Public Union against the Ministry of Justice. The Union co-founders Rasul Jafarov and Ahmad Heybatov attended the hearing, whereas no representative of the defendant was in attendance.
The judge listened to the co-founders and then decided to transfer the case to the Baku Administrative-Economic Court.
BACKGROUND
‘TV and Alternative Media Development Center’ Public Union was founded in August, 2009. The Justice Ministry has refused to register the organization five times. The co-founders deemed it illegal and sued the Ministry.
