MP Razi Nurullayev Calls to “Control” Sancaq Media

Azerbaijan’s Milli Mejlis member Razi Nurullayev sharply criticized the media network “Sancaq Media.” According to him, some recent publications allegedly contain criticism of the police and the prosecutor’s office.

Nurullayev stated that such materials “undermine stability” and called for them to be curtailed. He also emphasized that publications “inciting violence or violations of the constitutional order” should be punished.

Experts note that such statements by politicians are often used to pressure independent media and restrict freedom of speech. It remains unclear which specific publications triggered the MP’s discontent and how authorities plan to respond to these “violations.”
