MUSAVAT PARLIAMENTARIAN GROUP MEMBERS TO SEND INQUIRY TO MINISTRY OF INTERIOR

Musavat Party’s parliamentarian group will send an inquiry to the Ministry of Interior in connection with the beating of ANS employees by the Yasamal District Police Department employees. The Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety was told this by nationl deputy Penah Huseyn, who is a member of Musavat.

According to him, during today’s session of the Milli Mejlis, Musavat’s parliamentarian group called on the Ministry of Interior to thoroughly investigate this incident and inform Milli Mejlis and press about progress in the investigation.
Penah Huseyn noted that they intend to send an inquiry to the Ministry of Interior about the incident. “After the TV channel leadership is contacted to learn what measures have been taken, an inquiry we’ll be sent to the Minsitry of Interior,” said Huseynov.
On 27 April the ANS employees Njiat Suleymanov, Elmin Muradov and Azer Balayev, were carrying out their professional work as journalists, investigating the destruction of “Mahammad Aleyhussalam” mosque in Baku’s Yasamal region, when they were beat-up by the Yasamal District Police Department employees. The police broke some of ANS equipment and has not returned the video cassette that was in ANS’s video camera at the time of the incident.
