The Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety was told this by Press Council Chairman Aflatun Amashov. According to Amashov, Azerbaijan’s Press Council proposed the candidacy of nine people from the mass media and nine people from journalism organizations – eighteen people all together.
Priority will be given to members of the Press Council Board, added Amashov. During the Press Council last session, the Board came to a decision to include the names of editors, the heads of journalism organizations, who are in the Press Council’s Board, in the list, according to Amashov. “We want all mass media editors and representatives in the Board from journalism organizations to be registered.”
