Representatives from the US Broadcasting Board of Governors are visiting Azerbaijan.

“Turan” Information Agency was told this by the Head of Public Relations Department of the U.S. Embassy to Azerbaijan Terry Davidson. According to Terry Davidson, the aim of the visit is to carry out discussions with Azerbaijan’s government about "Radio Liberty" and "Voice of America" radio stations, which were banned from Azerbaijan’s FM frequencies on the basis of a decision that Azerbaijan's National Television and Radio Council issued on 30 December 2008. Davidson added that the representatives have concrete ideas and suggestions that will be discussed during the meetings.
Note that the FM broadcasts of "Radio Liberty,” "Voice of America" and BBC in Azerbaijan were ceased on 1 January 2009 on the basis of a decision that Azerbaijan's National Television and Radio Council issued on 30 December 2008.
