Objective TV wins prestigious One World Media Award

Azerbaijani online television channel Objective TV (OTV) has won  ‘One World Media Award’ under special award category.

Competing in the category of news organizations using media to address social, political and economic issues in the developing world, OTV has received the Special Award for ‘outstanding media content which has made a real impact on people’s lives.

IRFS and Objective TV CEO Emin Huseynov collected the award in person at the 25th Annual Awards Ceremony that took place on May 7 in London.

“We are honored to receive this recognition.  OTV is dedicated to making our country the best it can be – even if it means having to bring to light difficult stories.  We are proud of our team of journalists who have worked 24/7 investigating and uncovering all aspects of human rights violations.

Huseynov stressed that his organization dedicates this award to seven Azerbaijani journalists who are currently behind bars for simply exercising their right to freedom of expression.

One World Media Awards is one of the foremost Awards event in UK. It rewards the most outstanding media coverage of the developing world and recognizes the unique role of journalists and filmmakers in bridging the divide between different societies and raising awareness of vital development issues.

One World Media Award is granted every year under 11 categories- International Journalist of the Year Award, Radio Award, New Voice Award, Documentary Award, Digital Media Award, Special Award, News Award, Television Award, Student Award, Press Award, Entertainment Award.
