Nakhchivan city resident, owner, 55 years old Mahammad Gurbanov, who was placed in psychiatric hospital on 11 September, 2009 by police was given a suspicious injection on 19 September 2009. The Institute for Reporters` Freedom and Safety Regional Correspondent was told this by Gurbanov`s wife Farida Ismayilova.
“According to an unidentified person, the employee of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Internal Affairs Ministry named Gulu went to the hospital on 19 September,” said Farida Ismayilova. “He talked to the doctor and then to my husband. After this, they gave my husband an injection. His situation worsened after the injection and he was given another injection. Then he came to himself. We fear that they will create health problems for him through these shots. We have not been able to visit him. Yesterday, 21 September, he screamed out of the window of the hospital and was able to say that he was given a shot.”
