PACE MONITORING COMMITTEE CO-RAPPORTEURS TO COME TO BAKU

The Parliament Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Co-rapporteurs on Azerbaijan Andreas Herkel and Josef Grech will visit Azerbaijan between 7-12 February in order to prepare a report on how Azerbaijan fulfilled its obligations before the Council of Europe.

They will pay special attention to the issue of imprisoned bloggers and journalists, the situation in the area of freedom of speech and press, issues related to the preparation for the parliamentary elections during his visit, according to Turan Information Agency that.
“The Imprisonment of bloggers Emin Milli and Adnan Hajizade, and a new charge put forth against journalist Eynulla Fatullayev show that the problem of criminal prosecution remains,” said Herkel.
