On 13 August “Paralel” newspaper’s correspondent on Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Yasaf Hasanov was called to Ministry of Internal Affairs Chief Department to Fight against Organized Crimes. The Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety was told this by Y.Hasanov.
Hasanov has been living in Baku for a year and half, and prepares news about Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, according to the journalist.
“I protested against being called to the department via phone that day at 12:00 a.m. and told them that I would go there in the morning only,” said Hasanov. “I was called at 8:00 in the morning again, and I went to the department. I had to wait there until evening. Then they told me to leave and would call me if I was needed.”
Y.Hasanov added that he was told to go there with his journalist card next time. “Therefore I believe that this call is connected to my journalism activity.”
