At around 16:00, an action in protest against the restriction of freedom of assembly, began near the building of the Baku Executive Power.
However, the police began to severely detain the protesters already in the square near the Icheri Sheher metro station.
Periodically, protesters appear in the square, chanting the slogans “Freedom!”, “Resign!”, “Freedom, justice, national government!” and etc..
They are detained and dragged into special buses with barred windows.
The detainees, however, continue to chant slogans on the buses. The police act harshly, creating obstacles for journalists.
Dozens of people have been detained.
The action was organized by the Azerbaijan Popular Front Party demanding freedom of assembly, opening of land borders, release of political prisoners, free reforms and democratic reforms.
