Police releases man arrested over suspected assault on Bizim Yol newspaper correspondent

Anar Isgenderov, a 25 year-old man who had been arrested in connection with an assault on Bizim Yol newspaper correspondent Vusal Yusubov, was released after one-day detention, reports Bizim Yol chief editor Baheddin Haziyev.

According to the bizimyolinfo.com  report, Anar Isgenderov had been held in Yasamal District Police Office #28 and criminal case had been launched against him under Article 221 of the Criminal Code (hooliganism).
The police are currently searching other men involved in the assault.  
Vusal Yusubov, the correspondent of the circulation department of Bizim Yol newspaper, was attacked by 3-4 unknown strongly-built persons on November 7th. He was assaulted at 3:20am, near the printing house of the Football+ newspaper, on 3 Sharifzade Street, Baku.  The assailants punched Yusubov and inflicted injuries on him.  
Note that on November 6, 2012 the name of Salman Alizade, the world boxing champion of 2010, was linked to a person accused of fraud in the article titled “The world champion involved in a fraud”. The sportsman’s father made a threatening phone call to the editorial office of the newspaper after the article was published. This version is currently investigated by police.
