Parliamentarian Zahid Oruj told “Trend” News Agency that the presidential candidates will not be given free broadcasting time on the Closed Shareholder Society of Azerbaijan TV and Radio Broadcasting during the presidential elections that will take place in October of this year.
This is reflected in amendments and changes being considered for the Election Code. Oruj emphasized that the placing of propaganda materials on residential buildings during the run-up for presidential elections will be banned.
According to current legislation, candidates for president can use up to three hours on state TV and three hours on state radio a week. At the same time, the candidates are currently permitted to place propaganda materials on buildings.
