Relatives of Ilkin Suleymanov, accused of murdering a minor, held a protest in front of the Prosecutor General’s Office on 12 May.
They protested against the prosecutor’s proposal to sentence Suleymanov to 20 years of imprisonment. Relatives of the accused say that Ilkin is innocent and that there is no evidence of his guilt, as shown by the trial.
The trial is taking place in the Ganja Serious Crimes Court, the defence and the last word of the accused are expected.
Human rights activists believe that the investigation has not proved the guilt of the accused and he has been accused of a crime committed by someone else.
*Ilkin Suleymanov, a resident of Dondar Gushchu village in Tovuz region, is accused of the murder of 10-year-old Narmin Guliyeva, who went missing on 19 November 2019. Her charred body was found on January 6, 2020.
