“Two days ago (25 July) I was sitting in Narimanov Park “Istanbul” teahouse with my son and three friends when four unknown people sitting across from us interfered,” said S.Zahidov. “They even used improper words about my beard. One of my friends knew one of the four unknown people and said that he was a former policeman. I knew that this was another provocation; therefore decided not to create problems and left the teahouse. They wanted to convict us of hooliganism like Ganimat Zahid, Adnan Hajizade and Emin Milli; so we left.”
Sakit Zahidov was arrested on 23 June 2006 for possession of narcotics (this charge is widely understood to be spurious) and was sentenced to three year imprisonment by the Grave Crimes Court. He was released through the amnesty act adopted on 17 March 2009.
