American senator Sam Brownbeck, who is visiting Azerbaijan, gave an interview to “Radio Liberty” yesterday.
He said, "Economic progress and progress in the areas of democracy and human rights should develop in parallel. There has been significant development in investment and general growth in Azerbaijan in the past ten years, but our interest in the development of democracy and human rights hasn't decreased.." The senator emphasized that Azerbaijan's success in democracy is in the hands of the government, and to create an atmosphere for fair election, the internal resources for the country should be expanded and the participation of candidates should be secured.
