Yesterday, 22 December, Ayanda Mursaliyeva visited her husband, imprisoned “Azadlig” Newspaper Editor-in-chief Ganimat Zahid in Prison #17.
The Institute for Reporters’ Freedom and Safety was told this by Ayanda Mursaliyeva. “Ganimat’s health is normal, and he does not have any complaints about prison conditions or the attitude of the staff towards him,” said Mursaliyeva. “He is in a good mood.”
According to Mursaliyeva, she told Zahid that he became the winner “Ganimat's Week" action which was organized to support him. “Ganimat was surprised to hear that he was named the winner,” noted Mursaliyeva. “Ganimat thanked everyone who organized the week for the special diploma, medal and money.”
"Ganimat's Week" action dedicated to the one-year anniversary of imprisoned "Azadlig" Newspaper Editor-in-Chief Ganimat Zahid's arrest was organized by "Freedom of Speech Revolutionaries" club. On 17 December journalists who participated in the week were recognized.
