Yesterday, 5 January, the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Tax Ministry began inspecting the Democracy and NGO Development Resource Centre. The Institute for Reporters` Freedom and Safety was told this by the Head of the Centre Malahat Nasibova. She said that they have no information about why this examination is being conducted and when it will end.
The Democracy and NGO Development Resource Centre Public Union employees have been subjected to harassment repeatedly. On 15 December 2009, Ilgar Nasibov and Vefadar Eyvazov faced physical harassment by university leadership and students while they were conducting surveys among students to learn the situation of corruption in the universities.
