Telephone communication in the Baku prte-trial detention center-1 where Ali Aliyev, the head of the Citizens and Development Party (CDP) is being kept, has been restored, and he was able to call his family, was told in the press service of the ombudsman’s office.
The lawwyer Togrul Babayev confirmed the information.
Earlier, the lawyer said that since August 21, Ali Aliyev was not allowed to call his relatives.
On August 30, Aliyev’s wife appealed to the Ombudsman with a complaint about depriving her husband of telephone conversations.
Ali Aliyev has been convicted three times on libel charges since January this year, to a total of 1 year in prison.
Human rights activists recognized him as a political prisoner.
